Ron Goldstein is a leading architect in the creation and acceptance of employee-choice health plans, with a background spanning more than 20 years in the health insurance industry. Goldstein began his career in 1982 with John Hancock Insurance and, as top producer, rapidly ascended to a leadership position focused on the medical disability field. Immediately thereafter Goldstein joined Dun & Bradstreet Plan Services where he spent seven years, ultimately attaining the position of regional vice president responsible for group and individual health products for the Western United States. In 1990, Goldstein joined Word & Brown as vice president of sales, where he contributed to the General Agency's success and received the coveted NAHU Golden Eagle for Management sales award. In 1996, he was named senior vice president of Word & Brown's newly launched CaliforniaChoice� program. In this role, Goldstein conceptualized and designed the defined-contribution model for CaliforniaChoice�, which allowed that company to emerge as the state's leading authority on small-group healthcare benefits. Today CaliforniaChoice� serves over 10,000 employers representing more than 165,000 satisfied members. In 2003, Goldstein was appointed president of CHOICE Administrators�, a Word & Brown company and the nation's leading administrative company for employee-choice health benefits.
