Ron Lalonde is senior executive vice-president Administration Technology and Operations with overall responsibility for human resources communications and public affairs and technology and operations.
Mr. Lalonde joined CIBC in 1987 as an equities research analyst and was subsequently promoted to Director of Global Research. In 1991 he was appointed senior vice-president and chief financial officer Investment Bank CIBC. Ron was promoted to executive vice-president and chief operations officer Investment and Corporate Bank in 1993. He was reassigned as managing director Europe CIBC Wood Gundy plc in 1994 and was resident in London England until 1998. Ron returned to Canada in 1998 to become chief administrative officer of CIBC World Markets responsible for all global technology operations and other infrastructure functions. In September of 1998 he was then appointed executive vice-president CIBC/TD Integration Office with responsibility for leading the proposed merger of CIBC and Toronto-Dominion Bank. Ron was appointed chief administrative officer and became a member of the CIBC Executive Team in 1999.
Mr. Lalonde has been a consistent supporter of the United Way in Toronto. In addition he sits on the executive committees of the boards of the Canadian Stage Company and the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Mr. Lalonde has a BA degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business Administration. |
