Ron Mobed is co-President and co-COO of IHS. Previously, as President and Chief Operating Officer, Energy, Ron worked to transform our energy business to include critical technical information and strategic insights on everything from exploration and production, to LNG and European Gas supply, to alternative fuels, energy investment analyses and energy security. In order to better meet the needs of our customers, his strategic vision for the business led to a number of recent acquisitions by IHS including Geological Consulting Services (GCS), Exploration Data Services (EDS), and John S. Herold, Inc.
As well as his general role, Ron is currently leading the charge at IHS to expand our business in Asia, seizing the tremendous growth opportunity the region represents. In addition, Ron is re-aligning our worldwide sales organization at IHS, creating new Global Account Managements Teams that support all products and services. The teams are focused on bringing value to our customers with innovative solutions through a single point of focus.
Ron has a history of success in growing and transitioning businesses through innovation and by focusing on customer needs. He has a wide range of U.S. and international experience, with a diverse background in operations, product management, software development, marketing, professional services and information technology. Ron has been instrumental in helping the company transition its offerings and expanding its services to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
When Ron joined IHS in April of 2004, he brought with him 22 years of experience from Schlumberger where he served in multiple executive leadership roles including Vice President of GeoQuest Asia and Vice President and General Manager of Information Management for Schlumberger GeoQuest, as well as other sales, marketing, consulting and management positions.
A frequent speaker and presenter on energy matters, Ron has appeared in worldwide business press and other media, has spoken at major energy conferences and has authored numerous papers.
Ron was awarded a master�s in Petroleum Engineering with distinction from Imperial College at the University of London in 1987 and received his bachelor�s degree in Engineering from Trinity College at the University of Cambridge in 1980. |
