Responsibilities cover Business Unit (BU) Latin America and expansion of the mid-market strategy in that region, BU Transaction Banking, and Services, which aims to optimise Group-wide services within the bank. Also responsible for EU Affairs & Market Infrastructure. Appointed to the Managing Board from January 2006.
Was named CEO of Group Shared Services (GSS) in 2004. Under his leadership, GSS programme was accelerated and contracts signed with vendors for the partial outsourcing, multi-vendor strategies and offshoring of IT services.

Joined ABN Bank in 1986 as IT/System analyst, appointed head Project and Development ASI in 1992; International/Director Administration & Organisation, Cologne in 1994; and Director Administration and Organisaton in Frankfurt in 1995. From 1999, responsible for International Organisation and Information, Amsterdam and Europe/Operations in 2000.
