Mr. Van Epps has significant experience helping clients resolve complex insurance claims, specifically those related to asbestos, pollution and human health claims. By helping policyholders quantify and allocate future exposures over its coverage program, Ron has led the negotiations for and participated on engagements that collectively have resulted in insurance recoveries of more than $700 million. On a number of occasions, Ron has been asked to provide an assessment of how his clients should apportion settlement proceeds across various business units or to additional insureds. As a result of his experience negotiating with the London Market, Ron has made numerous presentations to clients on the financial stability of the London Market.
Prior to founding The Claro Group, Ron was a managing director with the Insurance Claims Group of LECG, LLC. Prior to joining LECG, he was partner-in-charge of Arthur Andersen's Insurance Claims consulting practice in the United States. Ron was with Andersen for 18 years, the last eight of which were focused on helping clients resolve various first-party property and third-party insurance claims, including leading a comprehensive effort to assist a dozen companies with their efforts to settle property damage and business interruption claims associated with the World Trade Center collapse.
Ron is a licensed CPA in Illinois and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University. |
