Ron joined The Brenner Group in 2007 and brings over 30 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning and execution for medical device and high technology firms. He has held full-time CFO positions with both public and private companies, and, in addition to finance, has broad experience managing cross-functional areas such as HR, IT, legal, treasury, risk management and facilities. Ron's background also includes managing the accounting, finance and reporting requirements of European offices in the U.K., Germany, France and Belgium; setting up a joint venture for manufacturing and distribution with a Japanese manufacturing company and establishing a sales and service office in Hong Kong. Before joining The Brenner Group, Ron served as Vice President and CFO of BARRX Medical, Inc. of Sunnyvale, CA, a private medical device company, where he set up financial systems, budgets, financial reporting packages, hired over 50 employees, initiated the company's move to separate manufacturing facilities and raised over $27 million through management of the firm's Series C round of funding. Prior to that, Ron was Senior Vice President, CFO and Corporate Secretary for Fremont, CA-based Cardima, Inc., where he raised multiple rounds of private equity, was involved with their IPO and the subsequent sale of intellectual property to Medtronic, combining for over $100 million in funding for the company. Before Cardima, Ron held the position of Corporate Controller for EP Technologies, where he was involved in the company's IPO and follow-on offering that raised over $30 million, ultimately leading to the acquisition of EP Technologies by Boston Scientific. Ron earned both an M.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. degree in Accounting from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He is also a Certified Management Accountant. |
