Rosa M. Tumial�n, a member of the firm in the Chicago, Illinois office, is a litigator who compliments her practice with extensive judicial experience gained from clerkships in both the Illinois Appellate Court and the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Ms. Tumial�n represents clients in a variety of litigation and litigation related matters, including products liability, banking (federal and state regulations concerning consumer lending), general commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes and environmental liability matters. She has tried cases in court and before arbitration panels.
Ms. Tumial�n is also an appellate specialist and the coordinator of appeals in the Chicago office. She has defended and prosecuted numerous appeals in both state and federal courts involving a wide array of litigation matters. Ms. Tumial�n is a member of the firm's Diversity Committee. She received the 2008 Award for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service from the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Experience
Ms. Tumial�n is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Law. She joined the firm in 2003, after completing a clerkship with the Honorable Robert Cahill of the Illinois Appellate Court for the First District. Ms. Tumial�n's tenure with the state appellate court was preceded by a clerkship with the Honorable Thomas P. Durkin of the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Tumial�n has represented numerous insurers in nationwide coverage litigation involving both personal and commercial lines. This representation includes involvement in a series of complex multi-million dollar environmental coverage disputes. Ms. Tumial�n also represents national and multinational corporations in other areas including contract disputes and environmental liability matters. |
