Rosemary L. Klein is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Solutia Inc.
Ms. Klein joined Solutia in June 2003 as Assistant General Counsel. In May, 2004 she was named Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel - Corporate and External Affairs of Solutia Inc. In December, 2004 Ms. Klein was named to her current position, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
Prior to joining Solutia, Ms. Klein was Assistant General Counsel and Secretary of Premcor Inc., one of the nation's largest independent oil refiners. During her almost two year tenure with Premcor, Ms. Klein was a member of Premcor's senior management team, served as the company's sole securities and finance attorney and was responsible for corporate governance compliance. In those roles, she helped lead Premcor's highly successful IPO. Prior to joining Premcor, Ms. Klein was Secretary and Assistant General Counsel at Arch Coal, Inc., the nation's second largest coal producer.
From 1995 through 1999, Ms. Klein was employed by Bryan Cave LLP, a multinational general practice law firm with over 500 attorneys. From 1992 through 1995, Ms. Klein worked at Price Waterhouse LLP as a Corporate Tax Consultant.
Ms. Klein obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1989 from the University of Illinois and her J.D. in 1992 from the Washington University School of Law. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
