Mr. Verzosa joined Magnus in the Summer of 2005 to act as senior geologist for the Mangshi property located in Southern Yunnan Province, China. Mr. Verzosa has worked extensively on the Mangshi property over the last few years, and Magnus feels that he will be a valuable asset to the Company in continuing exploration of the property in the most efficient manner possible. Benefiting from his knowledge of the property, the Company managed to begin its drilling program at Mangshi within months of purchasing the property, and that program continues to proceed at an extremely rapid and efficient pace.
Over the last 20 years, Mr. Verzosa has acted primarily as a consulting geologist and investor in mineral exploration projects throughout the world. During this period he has acted as president and CEO of a number of Canadian publicly-listed resource companies, including Aegis Resources Ltd. (involved in gold and silver exploration in Canada and USA), Swift Minerals Ltd. (gold and porphyry copper exploration in British Columbia and Nevada), Insular Explorations Ltd. (precious metals and porphyry deposits in Canada and the Philippines) and Rampart Ventures Ltd. (a TSX- listed company). As president and CEO of these various public companies Mr. Verzosa was responsible for general administration relating to regulatory requirements, mineral property evaluation, negotiating mineral property acquisitions, liaising with investor relation organizations and the raising of funds, either privately or through public offerings. Prior to 1984, Mr. Verzosa also has worked, as a geologist, with a number of International mining companies, including, Peso Silver Mines Ltd, Highland Bell Mines Ltd., Teck Corporation, Norco Resources Ltd., Denison Mines Ltd., Samar Mining Company, San Jose Oil Company, Mobil Oil Philippines Inc., and White Eagle Oil Overseas.
Mr. Verzosa is a Qualified Person under Canadian NI43-101, and he has authored several independent technical reports on mineral properties in North America, South America, Europe and China. Mr. Verzosa obtained his Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of the Philippines in1957, and subsequently obtained credits in the U of P Mining Engineering Program. |
