Rui Zhang has been Magnus� geological data information coordinator since the summer of 2005. Mr Zhang is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and has an educational and professional background in geological exploration and data management; Magnus feels that Mr. Zhang is an invaluable addition to our team in China.
Mr Zhang is in the last stages of obtaining his M.Sc. from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he studies economic geology and geochemistry. While at Queens Mr. Zhang received several prestigious scholarships and awards for outstanding acaddemic achievement, including the Queens University Graduate Award, the Reinh Scholarship in Geological Sciences, the Geology Department Scholarship (awarded three separate times). In 2002, Mr Zhang obtained his B.Sc. and B.A. from Peking University, where he studied in the Geology Department and in the China Center for Economic Research.
Mr. Zhang�s practical experience in geological exploration includes research assignments in the Southwestern US, Quebec, Ontario, and in several areas of China, including the Fangshan area and the Qinhuangdao area. In addition, Mr Zhang has received additional training in the fundamentals of reserve and resources estimation and the application of ArcView GIS software (Queens supplemental training programs). |
