Rurik B. ("RB") Halaby is the Founder and Chairman of AgriCapital Corporation, a New York-based investment bank that works exclusively in agribusiness. RB founded AgriCapital in 1983 to meet the increasing demands of an industry that was being buffeted by change that had not been seen since the 1930s.
RB is a graduate of M.I.T. with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil Engineering. After three years of work with a major engineering and design firm in California, he enrolled in the Stanford Graduate School of Business. After receiving his M.B.A. in 1969, he worked for eleven years on Wall Street as an investment banker and investment manager.
In 1981, RB went out on his own and soon thereafter started specializing in agribusiness. This sector of the economy has been the only focus of his business activities since 1983.
AgriCapital's services include negotiating mergers and acquisitions, arranging financings, and providing consulting services. Since its inception, the firm has been involved in over 330 assignments covering the entire spectrum of agribusiness. AgriCapital's services are undertaken on a global basis, but most of its activities are domestic.
AgriCapital's mission is to help agribusinesses cope with accelerating change. Its goal is to be equipped to provide its services creatively, professionally and with the highest ethical standards. |
