Mr. Babcock received a B.S. degree from Lawrence College, Appleton, Wisconsin, in 1957 and an M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1959. He joined Kennecott�s exploration subsidiary, Bear Creek Mining Company, part time in 1956 and full time in 1959 as an exploration geologist. He was appointed Director of Exploration for Kennecott in Salt Lake City in January, 1986. In November, 1990, he became Chief Geologist for Kennecott. Mr. Babcock retired from Kennecott in 1994 and is currently a consulting economic geologist, specializing in exploration for and evaluation of base and precious metal deposits worldwide. In 2003 he was the recipient of the Society for Mining Metallurgy, and Exploration Ben Dickerson Award. |
