Ruth Kedar co-founded wiTHinc in 1998 with George Toye to design and develop leading edge software tools for collaborative and interactive environments, in academic and business settings. With decades-long experience in collaborative design teams, (as designer, art director, project manager, consultant, and client,) Kedar brings considerable expertise to her position as Product Development Director. Her intimate knowledge of creative design process and interest in technology, has allowed her to be instrumental in numerous significant software development cycles.
As President of Kedar Designs during the past decade, she has provided complete design services (ID programs, Web Site Design, User Interface and Usability, Promotion and Collateral) for clients in the graphics software industry. She has helped clients in their product development process, and also in positioning their products.
As a consulting Professor in the Stanford University Art Department over 10 years, Kedar developed and taught several design courses, ranging from basic to advanced, including the graduate program in Design, focus on mastering design techniques, encouraging the development of individual concepts and their implementation through unique expressive forms, and examining several approaches to design generation while exploring both conventional and non-conventional directions.
With 25 years of experience in a multi-faceted design career, Kedar has developed an extensive portfolio in the fields of visual communication, from interface design to print and web design, from packaging to illustration. Kedar's artwork has been exhibited and published nationally and internationally. Her product lines (monotypes, digital art, and playing cards) are available at various art museum and stores. An active member of the art community, Kedar co-founded Art on the Net in 1994, one of the first internet galleries dedicated to providing space for artists on the Internet.
Kedar received her Master of Fine Arts from Stanford, following a Degree in Marketing and Advertisement from the Ariely School of Marketing in Israel and a B.Sc. in Architecture and Town Planning from the Israel Institute of Technology. |
