Ryan McKain provides cost-effective solutions for developers, land owners, national corporations and regulated entities who seek a wide variety of wetlands, zoning, planning, affordable housing, water and sewer, coastal zone and environmental permits. He helps clients prepare and file applications for local, state and federal permits, and represents them in administrative hearings before both state and municipal agencies and in appeals before state courts. He also advises and represents municipal planning and zoning commissions, zoning boards of appeals, inland wetlands commissions and historic district commissions, and drafts and reviews municipal regulations and ordinances.
Ryan also represents land owners, lenders and responsible parties in real estate transactions and litigation involving environmentally contaminated properties and assists those clients with environmental compliance obligations, including the Connecticut Property Transfer Act. Ryan represents clients with the negotiation and appeal of administrative orders, prepares and reviews environmental investigations and develops effective remediation strategies in conjunction with engineers and other technical professionals. He litigates matters involving CERCLA, RCRA, hazardous wastes and environmental responsibilities in federal and state courts, and represents plaintiffs and defendants in real estate, property boundary and title disputes.
