Experience-Ryan has been a partner since 1998. The primary focus of Ryan's practice is advising clients on consumer financial compliance and bank regulatory matters. Prior to joining the firm, Ryan was senior counsel for BankBoston, N.A. in Boston, Massachusetts. There, he advised the bank and its affiliates on all aspects of laws and regulations affecting retail financial products and services. Prior to joining BankBoston, Ryan was an associate at Pierce Atwood from 1988 to 1993, where his practice included consumer financial services law, insurance regulatory matters, commercial loan transactions, purchases and sales of stock and assets of closely-held businesses, and general corporate matters for closely-held corporations. Education Ryan received his B.A., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Colby College (1985) and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law (1988) where he was comments editor for the Maine Law Review. Professional Activities Ryan is a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar Association�s Business Law Section, and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee's Deposits and Payment Systems subcommittee. He is also a member of the Consumer and Financial Institutions Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
