Ryan primary focus is intellectual property law. He assists in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign utility and design patent applications for publicly and privately-held businesses, institutional clients and individuals. Ryan works closely with clients to prepare and prosecute trademark applications and, in matters of licensing, trade secrets, patent infringement and validity concerns. He also assists clients in matters relating to computer software, e-commerce and business development on the Internet, including licensing, development and web-based agreements. Ryan is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Bar Associations. He is also active in the American and Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Associations. Ryan graduated magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2003, earning his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Akron in 2000. He joined Calfee in 2003. |
