Samuel McCullough has served as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Community and Economic Development since being appointed by Governor Tom Ridge in 1997. Previously he served as a director and consultant to CoreStates Financial Corp. Mr. McCullough joined CoreStates in 1996 after the merger between CoreStates and Meridian Bancorp. Prior to the merger, he was Chairman, President and CEO of Meridian Bancorp. Inc. since 1983, having previously served as CEO for American Bank and Trust Co., a predecessor to Meridian. Mr. McCullough is past chairman of the International Financial Conference and the Association of Bank Holding Companies, and is also a former board member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Mr. McCullough serves on a number of board and executive committees including the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Albright College, and the University of Pittsburgh. In 1999, The University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business established the Samuel A. McCullough Chair in Finance. Mr. McCullough graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor's degree in business administration. |
