Biography
Samuel M. Eisenstat is an attorney in New York. He is a member of the Board of Directors (Trustees) of the following entities:
AIGSunAmerica Mutual Funds//Anchor Series Trust: Independent trustee of various mutual funds, closed end funds and variable annuities (Chairman of Board, Audit Committee);
North European Oil Royalty Trust (NYSE-NRT): holds a royalty interest on gas production in Germany (Audit & Compensation Committees);
Samuel previously served as a member of the boards of:
UMB Bank & Trust Co.- NY State chartered bank and subsidiary of Mizrachi Bank, Israel (Audit Committee) (U.S.bank was sold) and
Atlantic Realty Trust-a publicly traded REIT (in liquidation).
He is a member of the executive committee of The Independent Directors Council, (an affiliate of the Investment Company Institute (ICI), the largest mutual fund trade association in the United States) which represents and advocates the interests of independent mutual fund directors. He has been nominated to be Small Funds Trustee of the Year (2005) by the Mutual Fund Industry.
He is President of Abjac Energy Corporation, which explores for oil and gas.
He received the following degrees from New York University�: B.S. (1961); LL.B. (1963); LL.M. (Tax) (1964); LL.M. (Corporate concentration) (1965).
He served as an Assistant US Attorney in the Southern District of New York (Tax Unit) from 1966-1969.
