Samuel N. Seidman has more than 35 years of experience in investment banking, economic analysis, and corporate restructurings. In 1970, Mr. Seidman founded Seidman and Co., Inc., an investment banking and economic consulting firm. In this capacity, Mr. Seidman has provided a broad range of investment banking services, including financial analysis and valuations, private financings, as well as corporate recapitalizations and debt restructurings. In this latter activity, Mr. Seidman has worked on behalf of banks, indenture trustees, mutual funds, law firms, bondholders, debtors, and debtors in possession. From 1962 to 1971, Mr. Seidman was associated with Lehman Brothers, where he was engaged in corporate finance. As Vice President, Lehman Brothers International, he executed the initial foreign financings for the Governments of the Philippines, Ivory Coast, and Iran, and worked with numerous other foreign governments and multinational lending institutions. Since founding Seidman and Co., Mr. Seidman has continued to provide financing, and economic and financial consulting services to numerous companies. He has served as Director of the Asian International Bank, AMREP Corporation (NYSE), Kane Miller Corporation (NYSE), Harken Oil and Gas (OTC), Morse Electro Products Corporation (OTC), The Penn Corporation (OTC), Pennsylvania Engineering Corporation (ASE), Scanforms, Inc. (OTC), The Summit Organization, Inc. (ASE), SES, Inc. (a joint venture with Shell Oil Company), Universal Container Corporation (OTC), and other public and private companies. He has served on Audit, Compensation, and Planning Committees of the Board. He presently is President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Productivity Technologies, Inc., a public company which produces automation systems for the metal forming industry, and fabricates electrical control panels. In connection with facilitating financial restructurings, he also has served as Chairman of the Board of Victoria Station Corporation (OTC) and Chairman of the Board of Crystal Oil Company (OTC). Mr. Seidman led Crystal Oil's consensual pre-packaged Plan of Reorganization, and the Company's rapid (30-day) emergence from Chapter 11 has been recognized as the first major pre-packaged bankruptcy. He has served as Chairman, Economic Development Committee, the City Club of New York, as Trustee, and Member of the Finance Committee, the Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, and as Trustee and Treasurer of the Mental Health Association of New York City. He has been a member of the Board of Advisors and Contributors, Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance; the Philippine Committee of the Asia Society; the International Economists Club of New York; the American Economic Association; and The University Club. Mr. Seidman was honored as Trustee of the Year - 2004 by the United Hospital Fund. He has been a member of the Commercial Panel, American Arbitration Association, and has been appointed as Trustee in Bankruptcy. Mr. Seidman received a B.A. from Brooklyn College (1955) and a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University (1964). A former Fulbright scholar, Mr. Seidman has taught economics at several U.S. universities, and from 1963 to 1967 was a member to the Graduate Faculty, Bernard Baruch School, City University of New York. He has been an expert witness, has lectured widely, and published on corporate planning, development, and finance. |
