Samuel W. Wales is a partner of the law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Chicago office. He is a member of the Firm's Corporate Department and the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity practice groups. Sam's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies, venture capital financings and general corporate matters.
Sam has extensive experience in representing public and privately-held companies and private equity funds in domestic and cross border mergers, acquisitions and dispositions. In addition, Sam represents public companies, venture capital funds, and emerging companies in early and later stage venture investments.
Sam is a member of the American Bar Association and its Mergers & Acquisitions Market Trends Subcommittee. Sam is also one of the co-authors of the 2007 Private Target Mergers & Acquisitions Deal Points Study published by the ABA.
