Sander Bak is a partner in the Litigation department of the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He joined the firm in 2002. His practice encompasses a wide range of commercial litigation matters involving international law, human rights issues, securities law, and internal corporate investigations. Mr. Bak has represented several financial institutions in litigations involving claims arising under international law; he has defended domestic and international financial institutions in a lawsuit asserting claims under the anti-terrorism act; he represented a foreign head of state in a suit by an opposition leader involving human rights issues; and he represented a specialist firm in a NYSE enforcement proceeding.
Mr. Bak has represented numerous hedge funds in connection with SEC investigations and private claims involving short-selling activities and insider trading allegations. In addition, he has worked on several high-profile trust and estate matters.
Mr. Bak is admitted to practice before the Bar of the State of New York, the Bar of the State of New Jersey, and various federal courts. He is a member of the Judiciary Committee of the New York City Bar. |
